Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver (Glass)
Type: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: Up to £33,176 per annum
Location: Portsmouth
Start Date: Immediate
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver to join our customer, a well-established glass company based in Portsmouth.
This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for a professional Class 2 driver looking to join a stable and reputable business, delivering glass products safely and efficiently to customers across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
If you’re an experienced driver who takes pride in your work, has excellent attention to detail and understands the importance of handling specialist or fragile products with care, we’d love to hear from you!
Requirements:
- Valid Class 2 (HGV/LGV, Category C) driving licence
- Valid CPC and Tacho Card
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Experience handling and delivering glass, fragile goods or specialist products would be advantageous
- Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Physically fit, as manual handling will be involved
- Reliable, professional and responsible approach to work
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, transport and deliver glass products to customers
- Ensure all products are secured correctly for transportation
- Take care when loading, unloading and handling fragile goods
- Complete vehicle checks and report any defects
- Deliver goods safely and on time across Portsmouth and surrounding areas
- Provide excellent customer service at each delivery
- Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and documentation
- Follow all company procedures and health and safety regulations
