Outstanding business success stories from both home and abroad have secured two nominations for Driver Hire in the Business Desk Yorkshire ‘Annual Growth Awards 2027’.
At home, Driver Hire Nationwide has been shortlisted for in the ‘Business Scale-up Category (businesses with turnover over £10m). And, further afield, Driver Hire Australia is in the frame for the ‘International Growth Award’.
Judges in the ‘Scale Up’ category were looking for business innovation and significant investment that has resulted in remarkable ‘scale-up’ growth. Driver Hire’s development of virtual territories (VTs) provided a perfect example for them. Utilising digital recruitment initiatives, over the past two years, its virtual territory network has grown to 24 VTs, each one adding to Driver Hire’s nationwide coverage. In 2025/26, VTs added an impressive £3.55m – that’s 5.5% of total revenue – a healthy contribution to an all-time record trading year for Driver Hire.
Driver Hire Australia’s growth story ‘down under’ also caught the judges’ attention. Since opening its first office in 2012, there has been a consistent expansion of the business through regular office openings and growth of existing business, bringing the network to a total of 12 locations across Australia. In line with the growth of its office network, turnover has continues to climb. Current trending suggests year-on-year growth of 24% for the 26/27 financial year.
Commenting on the news, Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive said: “Nominations in two growth categories paints a very impressive picture of the ongoing progress we’re making at Driver Hire where we’re on course for another record year.”
