🚛 Class 2 (Category C) Driver – Ongoing Work with Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
📍 Edinburgh (East & West Depots)

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are recruiting experienced Class 2 (Cat C) drivers for one of our long-established clients, with opportunities available at both Edinburgh West and Edinburgh East depots.

This is an ongoing role with a genuine temp-to-perm pathway, ideal for drivers looking for stability, strong rates of pay, and consistent work.

🕒 Working Patterns

Edinburgh West

📅 Start date: Early February 2026 | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Alternating rota:

• Week 1: 11:00am starts, Monday to Friday

• Week 2: 8:00am start on Sunday, then 11:00am starts Monday to Thursday/Friday

Edinburgh East

📅 Start date: Late February 2026 | Ongoing until late June 2026

Alternating rota:

• Week 1: 8:00am starts, Monday to Friday

• Week 2: 8:00am starts, Monday to Saturday

➕ Additional Shifts (Both Sites)

Extra shifts are regularly available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, including holiday cover.
⏱ Start times will be 7:00am or 11:00am, depending on operational requirements.

💰 Pay Rates

• Monday–Friday: £14.70 PAYE | £16.47 PAYE Advanced

• Overtime (after 8 hours): £22.05 PAYE | £24.71 PAYE Advanced

• Saturday: £22.05 PAYE | £24.71 PAYE Advanced

• Sunday: £29.40 PAYE | £32.95 PAYE Advanced

✅ Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
✅ Weekly pay, plus holiday accrual (unless PAYE Advanced is selected)

🚚 The Role

• Driving a Class 2 vehicle completing multi-drop deliveries across Edinburgh and surrounding areas

• Working with a driver’s mate to assist with loading, unloading, and heavier items

• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork accurately

• Providing excellent customer service at every delivery point

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence

• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card

• No more than 9 penalty points (no DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling

• Minimum 12 months’ Class 2 driving experience
