Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently seeking a dependable and experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to support a busy waste management operation in East Lothian.
This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for regular full-time hours, weekly pay, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a well-established client.
🕒 Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am start times
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Overtime available depending on business needs
- Temp to perm opportunities for the right candidate
🔧 The Role
- Operating a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on planned routes
- Working closely with loaders as part of a professional team
- Completing collections safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects
- Following all health & safety procedures at all times
💰 Pay Rates
PAYE
- £14.53 per hour
- £21.80 per hour overtime after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £16.28 per hour
- £24.42 per hour overtime after 8 hours
✅ Minimum 40 hours guaranteed per week
✅ Weekly pay

✅ Requirements
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Previous refuse, waste, or similar driving experience preferred
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
