Yard Operative / FLT Counterbalance Driver
Location: Crewe, Cheshire
Pay Rate: £15.13 per hour (assignment rate)
Duration: Minimum 4 weeks with potential for extension
Start Date: Immediate start available
We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / FLT Counterbalance Driver on behalf of a busy builders merchants based in Crewe, Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and thrives in a fast-paced yard environment.
Key Duties:
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance FLT
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
- Assisting customers with enquiries and providing excellent customer service
- Liaising with the office team regarding stock and deliveries
- Supporting general yard duties as required
- Manual handling duties where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A valid Counterbalance FLT licence
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or builders merchants environment (preferred)
- A friendly, positive, can-do attitude
- Strong communication skills and willingness to help customers and colleagues
- Comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
