Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting experienced Class 2 HIAB (Remote Grab) Drivers to work with a variety of well-established builders merchants and construction companies across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

We have ongoing opportunities available with multiple clients, giving you the chance to find a role that suits your experience, location and availability.

These positions offer consistent Monday to Friday work, guaranteed hours and the potential for permanent employment depending on the client and assignment.

📦 The Roles

Depending on the client, you could be responsible for:

• Driving a Class 2 vehicle fitted with a remote grab HIAB crane
• Delivering building materials to construction, commercial and residential sites
• Completing multi-drop deliveries
• Loading and unloading materials using the remote grab
• Operating HIAB equipment safely and in line with site procedures
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
• Following relevant health & safety procedures
• Providing professional and friendly customer service

The exact duties, routes and delivery requirements will vary depending on the client and assignment.

🕒 Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Minimum 40 hours per week on applicable assignments
• Overtime opportunities available
• Consistent weekday work
• Long-term and ongoing assignments available
• Potential for temp-to-perm and permanent positions

💷 Pay Rates

PAYE

• £16.20 per hour
• £21.50 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £18.16 per hour
• £24.20 per hour after 8 hours

🪪 What You’ll Need

⚠️ HIAB QUALIFICATION IS ESSENTIAL

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• ALLMI C5+E HIAB certification – essential
• AITT or RTITB HIAB qualifications also accepted
• Previous remote grab HIAB experience preferred
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable working on construction and commercial sites
