Driver Hire Shepton Mallet is recruiting for a Class 2 Readymix Mixer / Tipper Driver to work with a fantastic, long-standing client based in Glastonbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional HGV driver who takes pride in safe working, enjoys practical, hands-on driving work, and is looking for a long-term role with real variety.
The role will involve operating readymix concrete mixer vehicles and tipper vehicles, delivering to customer sites, construction projects and trade locations across the area. Health and safety must be at the forefront of every day’s activity, so we are looking for a dependable, safety-focused driver who understands the importance of working carefully around live sites, customers, pedestrians, plant machinery and other vehicles.
Successful candidates will complete a driver training day to familiarise themselves with the relevant lorry, site procedures, safe operating processes and customer expectations before starting the role.
The Role
As a Class 2 Readymix Mixer / Tipper Driver, your duties will include:
Driving Class 2 readymix mixer and tipper vehicles
Delivering readymix concrete, aggregates or related materials to customer and construction sites
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly
Following all site rules, customer procedures and health and safety requirements
Operating safely around site traffic, pedestrians, machinery and uneven ground
Communicating professionally with site teams, customers and transport staff
Completing delivery paperwork and documentation accurately
Keeping the vehicle clean, presentable and ready for use
Supporting varied delivery work depending on operational requirements
This is a role where safety, reliability and professionalism matter every day. The work offers a strong mix of driving, customer interaction and site-based activity, making it ideal for someone who wants more than just standard multidrop driving.
What We Offer
Weekly PAYE pay between £16.00 and £18.50 per hour

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A valid UK Class 2 / Category C licence
Minimum 6 months’ Class 2 driving experience
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
Ability to drive both automatic and manual HGV vehicles
Minimum age of 23, due to insurance requirements
A strong commitment to health and safety
A professional, reliable and flexible approach
Good communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and site teams
Previous mixer, tipper, construction or aggregates experience would be beneficial, but training will be provided for the right candidate
