About the Role:
Driver Hire Stockport is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Gully Tanker Driver to work on behalf of one of our established clients based in the Stockport area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced Class 2 driver to join a busy highways maintenance operation, carrying out essential drainage and gully cleaning services across the local area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a specialist gully tanker vehicle, maintaining highway drainage systems and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Class 2 gully tanker vehicle to carry out scheduled highway gully emptying and cleaning.
- Clearing and jetting blocked gullies and drains across highways, residential areas and commercial premises.
- Using specialist jetting equipment and tools to remove blockages.
- Operating in-cab technology to record and report completed work.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring all equipment is operated safely.
- Working effectively as part of a team to complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification.
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card and knowledge of its correct use.
- Previous experience operating HGV vehicles in residential and urban areas.
- Knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management requirements.
- A recognised Water Jetting Association qualification.
- Experience operating gully tankers or similar specialist drainage vehicles is highly desirable.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A reliable, professional attitude with a strong focus on health and safety.
Working Hours & Pay
- £15.31 per hour
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 06:15 – 14:30
- Requirement to work up to four weeks of night shifts when necessary.
