Our client is looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driver to join their busy operation in Dartford.
The role involves multi-drop collections from retail stores, with goods transported back to a commercial site. As part of the role, you will also collect coins from machines at customer locations, so a professional and trustworthy approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled collections from retail stores and other customer locations.
- Collect coins from machines at designated sites and transport them safely to the commercial site.
- Complete multi-drop routes efficiently and professionally.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects immediately.
- Ensure goods and collected items are loaded, secured and handled safely.
- Complete all required paperwork, delivery/collection records, PODs and tachograph records.
- Provide excellent customer service at every location.
- Communicate with the transport office regarding delays, route changes or any issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy and presentable.
- Follow all road traffic, health & safety, drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- On occasions, you may be required to work away in different areas of the country to provide holiday or sickness cover.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous multi-drop delivery/collection experience preferred.
- Good geographical knowledge or confidence using a navigation system.
- Professional attitude with excellent customer service skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
- A full DBS check will be required.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working at retail, trade, industrial or commercial sites.
- Experience using tail lifts and pallet trucks.
- Previous experience handling collections or cash/coin-related duties would be advantageous.
