Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting reliable and physically fit Warehouse Workers to join our client’s busy furniture operation in Edinburgh.
This is an ad-hoc opportunity to begin with, providing flexible shifts based on the client’s requirements, with the potential to move into a regular 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern for the right candidates.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for loading and unloading furniture, moving heavy items around the warehouse and preparing deliveries.
🛠️ The Role
Your duties will include:
- Loading and unloading furniture from delivery vehicles
- Manually moving and handling furniture around the warehouse
- Preparing furniture and orders for delivery
- Loading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
- General warehouse and manual handling duties
- Working as part of a team to meet daily delivery requirements
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
- Following all health & safety procedures
⚠️ This is a physically demanding position involving regular heavy lifting and manual handling. You must be comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and regularly moving heavy furniture.
⏰ Working Hours
- Ad-hoc shifts to begin with
- 12-hour shifts
- Potential to move to a 4 on / 4 off rota
- Regular ongoing work may be available for the right candidates
- Immediate availability preferred
💷 Pay
PAYE: £13.00 per hour
PAYE Advanced: £14.57 per hour
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Previous warehouse or manual handling experience is beneficial but not essential
- Physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting
- Comfortable working on your feet for long periods
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Flexible and available for ad-hoc shifts
- Able to commit to a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern if the role progresses
