🚛 HGV Class 2 Drivers – Flexible Ad Hoc Work

💷 £14.50–£16.25 per hour

Driver Hire Edinburgh West are looking for experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to join our driving team, with a variety of assignments available across West Lothian.
Whether you’re looking to pick up occasional shifts, earn some extra income or find regular part-time driving work, we may have assignments to suit your availability.
There may also be opportunities for full-time hours from time to time, although these cannot be guaranteed.
🚚 The Work
Assignments can vary, giving you the opportunity to work across different types of driving roles, including:
- Multi-drop and single-drop deliveries
- General haulage and pallet network work
- A-to-B vehicle movements
- Deliveries of steel, office furniture, food & drink and construction materials
- Loading and unloading when required
- Completing vehicle checks and relevant paperwork
- Working in line with transport, compliance and health & safety requirements
With a range of clients and assignments available, no two shifts necessarily look the same.
✅ Driver Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 1 year’s Class 2 driving experience
- Maximum 6 penalty points – minor offences only
- No IN, DD, DR or CD endorsements
- Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport legislation
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Flexibility to work across different assignments
- Good communication and customer service skills
💷 Pay Rates
PAYE Basic: £14.50 per hour + holiday pay accrued
PAYE Advanced: £16.25 per hour
