Driver Hire Preston are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver to join a successful and well-established food distribution company based in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

Our client is a leading supplier of chilled and frozen food products to restaurants, cafés, hotels and other catering businesses across the local area.

They are looking to recruit a driver for a permanent, full-time position, offering consistent weekday work and the opportunity to become part of a busy and friendly delivery operation.

The Role

As a 7.5 tonne delivery driver, you’ll be responsible for delivering food products to a variety of local customers, helping ensure their orders arrive safely, correctly and on time.

Your typical working day will involve:

• Making local deliveries to catering and hospitality businesses.
• Driving a 7.5 tonne (Category C1) vehicle.
• Delivering chilled and frozen food products.
• Unloading orders at customer premises.
• Checking deliveries and ensuring orders are handled with care.
• Building positive relationships with customers through friendly, professional service.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and following safe driving practices.
• Working efficiently to complete your delivery schedule.

All vehicles are pre-loaded before departure, allowing you to concentrate on completing your deliveries. Please be aware that the position involves regular manual handling and unloading of goods, so you must be physically capable of carrying out these duties.

Hours, Pay & Employment

• £14.80 per hour PAYE
• Monday to Friday
• 7:00am – 4:00pm
• Permanent, full-time employment
• Local delivery routes
• Based in Fleetwood
• Immediate start available

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking and enjoys being out on the road while providing a great service to customers.

• A full UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5 tonne) entitlement or higher.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Be aged 25 or over due to insurance requirements.
• The physical ability to lift, handle and unload goods.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A responsible attitude towards driving and vehicle safety.
• Excellent punctuality and time management.
• A positive approach to work and willingness to get the job done.

Previous 7.5 tonne driving experience is not essential. We welcome applications from newly qualified drivers who are keen to establish themselves in a permanent driving role.
