Job details
Ready to take the next step in your career with Driver Hire Sheffield & Rotherham?
We’re looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual to develop into a Trainee Recruitment Consultant within our busy logistics recruitment team in our office based in S5.
This is a 360 recruitment role, offering the opportunity to gain a full understanding of our business, from sourcing and managing candidates to building client relationships, supporting sales activity and delivering excellent customer service.
Working alongside our experienced team, you’ll develop the knowledge, confidence and commercial skills needed to become a successful Recruitment Consultant, with ongoing training, guidance and opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.
What will you be doing?
- Recruitment: Sourcing, interviewing and registering candidates, completing licence and compliance checks, managing bookings and matching the right drivers to the right jobs.
- Client relationships: Communicating with existing clients, understanding their staffing requirements and ensuring they receive a reliable, professional service.
- Sales and business development: Accompanying colleagues on sales visits to learn how we build relationships, identify new opportunities and grow the business.
- Customer service: Joining colleagues on client service visits to understand their needs, maintain strong relationships and ensure we continue to deliver an excellent service.
- Office and marketing support: Managing job adverts, maintaining accurate records, supporting social media activity and assisting with the day-to-day running of the office.
You’ll gain experience across all areas of the business, helping you understand how recruitment, sales and customer service work together to deliver results.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone approachable, professional and confident communicating with others.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to take initiative.
- Confidence using IT, Microsoft Office and social media.
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team while developing their independence.
- A proactive approach and an interest in building relationships with both clients and candidates.
Previous recruitment experience is beneficial but not essential. The right attitude, commitment and willingness to develop are what matter most.
What’s in it for you?
- Friendly, supportive colleagues who are on hand to help you succeed.
- Weekly pay.
- Ongoing training and development to help you build your skills and confidence.
- Varied day-to-day responsibilities across recruitment, sales and customer service.
- Career progression opportunities as you develop within the business.
- Increasing responsibility and independence as your knowledge grows.
- Support from experienced colleagues, with the opportunity to learn directly from different members of the team.
On-call responsibilities
Being part of the out-of-hours on-call rota is an important part of supporting our clients and drivers.
You won’t be expected to take this on straight away. You’ll first have time to learn the day-to-day operations of the office, understand the relevant procedures and build your confidence, with guidance from experienced colleagues both during and outside office hours.
You’ll gradually be introduced to on-call responsibilities once you have the knowledge and confidence to manage them effectively.
