Driver Hire London West is currently looking for a reliable Traffic & Transport Data Technician to carry out traffic, transportation and pedestrian surveys using a range of survey technologies. This role is ideal for someone who takes safety seriously and enjoys working in a practical, field-based environment, is organised, and can confidently communicate with others and manage their time effectively across a range of projects and locations.

This is an active, outdoor role and may involve:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods
  • Working at heights of up to 5 metres
  • Safely handling and moving equipment weighing up to 42lbs, approximately 19kg
  • Travel across the UK and Ireland

📍Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out traffic, transportation and pedestrian surveys using a range of survey technologies including video, ANPR, ATC, radar and manual techniques
  • Install, monitor and recover survey equipment safely and efficiently, following health and safety procedures
  • Review survey briefs and understand project requirements before attending site, prepare equipment and support site reviews where required
  • Liaise with the Project Manager to provide clear, timely updates on survey progress, including any site restrictions, access issues or other factors that may affect delivery; Support colleagues and contribute to the successful delivery of operational projects
  • Follow company processes to accurately record equipment usage for each site, keep company vehicles and equipment clean, well maintained and safe for use; Report any faults, damage or issues promptly

✔Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working in field-based, operational or technical environments
  • A strong focus on health, safety and quality
  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions whilst on site
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to share information clearly with colleagues and stakeholders, strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to working hours, including nights, weekends and occasional overnight stays
  • Confidence working in a range of weather and outdoor environments
  • Experience working on highways or in similar roadside environments is desired
  • Lantra, CSCS or similar industry qualifications is desired
