🚛 Class 2 Flatbed Driver – Ratchet Strap Experience Essential

Driver Hire Blackburn are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Flatbed Driver to work for a busy and well-established client.

The role involves delivering a variety of loads, including CCTV posts and reconditioned machinery, so previous experience securing loads on a flatbed vehicle is essential.

The Role

As a Class 2 Flatbed Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• Driving a Class 2 flatbed vehicle
• Delivering CCTV posts, reconditioned machinery and other equipment
• Completing multiple deliveries as required
• Loading and unloading goods safely
• Securing loads using ratchet straps and other load restraint equipment
• Ensuring loads are correctly positioned and secured before leaving site
• Carrying out vehicle and load safety checks
• Delivering to commercial and customer locations
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Providing a professional and helpful service to customers
• Following all relevant health & safety and load security procedures

Experience Required

Strong load restraint and ratchet strap experience is essential.

The successful driver will ideally have previous experience delivering:

• Machinery
• Steel or metal products
• Posts or poles
• Construction materials
• Heavy or awkward loads
• General flatbed freight

You must be confident strapping, securing and checking a variety of loads before travelling.

Requirements

To be considered for this Class 2 Flatbed Driver position, you will need:

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Previous Class 2 driving experience
• Good experience using ratchet straps and securing loads – essential
• Previous flatbed experience preferred
• Good understanding of load security and safe transportation
• Ability to handle some manual work
• Reliable and professional approach
• Good customer service skills

The Ideal Driver

This role would suit an experienced Class 2 Flatbed Driver, HGV Driver or HIAB/General Haulage Driver who is confident working with different types of loads.

This is not a role for someone without load restraint experience. You must be comfortable using ratchet straps and ensuring potentially heavy, awkward or valuable loads are properly secured before leaving site.
