Driver Hire Grimsby & Scunthorpe are recruiting an experienced Class 2 (Category C) Driver for an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity with one of the region’s established food distribution businesses.
This is a regular, full-time position with a genuine opportunity to become a permanent member of the customer’s team following a successful qualifying period.

The job
You’ll be carrying out multi-drop deliveries of chilled and ambient food products to commercial customers across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Your duties will include:
- Class 2 multi-drop deliveries
- Delivering to regular commercial customers
- Checking goods and completing delivery paperwork
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
- Loading/unloading and some manual handling
- Ensuring deliveries arrive safely and on time
- Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
This isn’t simply about getting from A to B. You’ll regularly be dealing with customers, so we’re looking for someone who is professional, approachable and takes pride in providing good service.
Hours
- Tuesday to Saturday
- 37.5 hours per week
- Early morning starts
- Sunday and Monday off
- Overtime may be available
The regular Tuesday-to-Saturday pattern means you’ll know your working days in advance, while still having two consecutive days off each week.
Pay
£15.00 per hour
You’ll be paid weekly through Driver Hire during the temporary qualifying period.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need:
- A full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR or IN endorsements)
- To meet the relevant insurance requirements
- Good knowledge of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations
- A reliable and professional approach
Previous Class 2 multi-drop experience would be a definite advantage.
We’re particularly interested in drivers who are comfortable dealing directly with customers and understand the importance of representing the business professionally at every delivery.
