Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting a reliable and professional Van Driver to work on behalf of a well-established client delivering catering equipment throughout East Lothian, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced van driver looking for regular weekday work, weekly pay, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a reputable local company.

🚚 The Role

• Driving a 3.5T van to deliver catering equipment to commercial customers
• Delivering to restaurants, cafés, hotels, schools and other catering establishments
• Loading and unloading equipment safely, with some manual handling involved
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Providing excellent customer service at every delivery
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on schedule

🕒 Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Typical start time of 7:00am
• Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift
• Overtime available depending on business requirements
• Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate

💷 Pay Rates

PAYE

• £13.00 per hour
• £17.32 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £14.57 per hour
• £19.42 per hour after 8 hours

✅ Benefits

• Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
• Weekly pay
• Overtime opportunities available
• Holiday pay accrued (unless PAYE Advanced is selected)

✅ Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Previous van driving experience preferred
• Maximum of 9 penalty points
• No DD, DR, CD, DG or IN endorsements
• Comfortable with manual handling and lifting heavy equipment
• Reliable, professional and customer-focused attitude
• Good communication skills and a positive work ethic
