Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Skip Driver on behalf of a well-established waste management and recycling company based in East Lothian.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for ongoing, full-time work with the opportunity to secure a permanent position after a successful temporary period.
🚛 The Role
- Operating a Class 2 skip vehicle throughout East Lothian and the surrounding areas
- Delivering, exchanging and collecting skips for commercial and domestic customers
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
🕒 Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 6:15am start times
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Overtime available
- Temp-to-perm opportunity
💷 Pay Rates
PAYE
- £15.00 per hour
- £19.99 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £16.81 per hour
- £22.40 per hour after 8 hours
✅ Minimum 40 hours guaranteed per week
✅ Weekly pay
✅ Overtime opportunities available
✅ Ongoing work with the opportunity of a permanent contract
✅ Requirements
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph card
- Previous skip, waste or other Class 2 driving experience is advantageous
- Good understanding of safe working practices
- A reliable, professional and customer-focused attitude
