HGV Driver Class 1 (Skip Wagon)
Location: Barnsley
Start Times: Typically, between 2:00am and 5:00am (depending on site requirements)
Hours: (Monday to Friday) ongoing work
Salary: £18ph
Overtime: Anything over 40 hours per week paid at time and a half
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver operating Skip Wagons to join our client on an ongoing basis located in Barnsley. This role is ideal for a driver who enjoys variety in their work and is happy to work flexible hours.
You will be responsible for carrying out skip exchanges and collections at various sites. Start times and daily hours will vary depending on site opening hours and the number of exchange requests.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out skip deliveries, collections, and exchanges
- Ensure safe and efficient loading/unloading of skips using hooks and chains
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Communicate effectively with the transport manager and site staff
- Adhere to all health, safety, and road regulations
What we are looking for:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC and Tacho Card
- Experience with skips (hooks and chains) preferred
- Experience driving rigids and drawbar trailers preferred
- Flexibility with start times and working hours
