We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to provide holiday cover for one of our established customers based in Birchington.
This is a great opportunity for reliable drivers looking for consistent shifts within a busy fresh produce operation.
The Role:
- HGV1 shunting using a Tug (no specific Tug experience required)
- Collecting loaded trailers from pack houses
- Transporting trailers to the warehouse for dispatch
- Working within a 7-day-a-week operation
Induction Process:
A three day induction will be arranged prior to starting work.
This will include:
- Familiarisation with equipment
- Overview of pack house locations
- Guidance on contacts and required paperwork
- Tips on bay approaches and reversing angles (as bay layouts vary)
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Previous shunting or trailer experience preferred
- Confident reversing and manoeuvring
This position is available to cover holiday and we can provide these dates in advance. Driver Hire can speak to you about other HGV assignments in the local area to support you with regular work and may be able to offer contracted hours.
