Technology introduces virtual interviews

Thanks to investment in new technology, drivers wanting to sign-up for agency work with Driver Hire can now be checked, interviewed and hired virtually, without the need for physical checks or an in-person meeting.

“Following government legislative changes, relating to the checking of Right to Work documents, we’ve developed a new virtual recruitment platform,” says Jeremy Neale, Driver Hire’s Managing Director, UK. “Checks are carried out using a legally compliant facial recognition system. This is combined with a one-to-one video interview with one of our recruiters.”

As the UK’s leading logistics recruitment specialist, Driver Hire already had the most extensive nationwide network, with over 100 offices covering the whole of the country. Even so, there were still some areas where potential candidates were put off by the travel time to their nearest Driver Hire office.

“Online interviews can improve the recruitment experience for candidates,” says Jeremy Neale, Driver Hire’s Managing Director, UK. “It’s increasing the pool of quality drivers* we’re able to offer our clients, which means we can meet the ever-growing demand for our services.”
