Sharon is a HGV Hero

Sharon Gray, Senior Consultant at Driver Hire Edinburgh West has been nominated as a HGV Hero, as part of the Road Haulage Association’s #HGVHeroes campaign.

The road transport industry is one of the most important industries in the UK and employs over 2.5m people, from logistics co-ordinators, drivers and planners, to web developers, coders, designers, warehouse staff, administrators, managers, technicians and more.

The RHA are highlighting some of the fantastic work that people working in the logistics sector have been doing recently, across multiple disciplines, skills and qualifications, in order to keep our country going during these challenging times.

Sharon is one of the stars included in their campaign.

Rachael McWilliams, Area Manager, commented:

“Sharon has been 110% dedicated to her drivers and clients throughout the coronavirus pandemic, recruiting continuously for key workplaces such as NHS, pharmaceuticals, food & drink and essential construction.

The support she has provided for two particular clients has been recognised time and time again from various levels of their business. Phone calls and emails of gratitude have kept her spirits high and extra motivated to place even more drivers in the industry. She has maintained relations with all drivers and even managed to secure temp to perm positions for numerous individuals – a major positive during this challenging time! Sharon has kept her Edinburgh West branch alive and will most definitely ensure Driver Hire comes out of this stronger.”

Not only has she been working hard to ensure her drivers, customers and colleagues have been supported throughout, Sharon also become a grandmother for the first time during these difficult times to a gorgeous little girl called Hallie, who only recently she was allowed to cuddle for the first time.

Emotions will be even higher as Sharon celebrates a big birthday this week and her Driver Hire team will be celebrating her special day at a distance in the office.

They are all delighted that Sharon has been given the recognition that she deserves. Thank you, Sharon and congratulations!
