Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operatives and Drivers’ Mates to support busy warehouse, logistics and home delivery operations across Edinburgh and Loanhead.

💷 Pay Rates

Warehouse Operative – Edinburgh

• PAYE: £13.00 per hour
• PAYE Advanced: £14.57 per hour

Driver’s Mate – Loanhead

• £12.71 per hour
• Overtime paid after 10.5 hours worked per shift

📦 Warehouse Operative – Edinburgh

Hours: Ad hoc shifts, with the potential to progress onto a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

Duties include:

• Loading and unloading deliveries.
• Moving and handling large furniture and household items.
• Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Assisting with stock movements throughout the warehouse.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

🚛 Driver’s Mate – Loanhead

Start time: 07:00
Shift patterns: Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday
Shift length: Approximately 10 hours

Working as part of a two-person delivery team, you will assist the driver with multi-drop deliveries of furniture and household goods to customers’ homes.

Duties include:

• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
• Assisting with multi-drop deliveries.
• Carrying furniture and household items into customers’ homes.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking individuals.
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Flexibility to work the required shifts.
• Previous warehouse, delivery or manual handling experience is beneficial but not essential.
• For the Driver’s Mate role, candidates must be able to travel to Loanhead for a 07:00 start.

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are recruiting multiple Van Drivers to join a busy furniture delivery team, delivering flat-pack furniture directly to customers’ homes alongside a dedicated 2nd Man.

🚚 The Role

• Deliver furniture safely and efficiently to residential addresses.
• Assist with loading, unloading and heavy lifting.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Complete vehicle checks and follow health and safety procedures.

✅ Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Previous van driving or delivery experience.
• Good navigation skills and geographical knowledge.
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting.
• Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
• Aged 25+ for insurance purposes.

🕒 Working Pattern

Choose from:

• Sunday – Wednesday
• Wednesday – Saturday

⏰ 7:00am – 5:00pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

💰 Pay & Benefits

• £13.00 per hour PAYE.
• £17.33 per hour overtime after 10 hours worked.
