Driver Hire Chelmsford & Harlow are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and professional Van Driver / Service Delivery Representative to join their friendly team in Barnston, Essex.

Our client is an established business supplying washroom and cleaning products to schools, nurseries, academies and commercial customers across London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced van driver who enjoys being out on the road, delivering goods and providing excellent customer service.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering products safely and efficiently to customers, ensuring every delivery is completed professionally and on time.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks.
• Loading your van and ensuring goods are secured correctly.
• Delivering products to schools, nurseries, academies and commercial premises.
• Unloading goods and placing deliveries where requested.
• Obtaining proof of delivery where required.
• Providing excellent customer service and building positive relationships with customers.
• Keeping your vehicle clean, tidy and roadworthy.
• Reporting vehicle defects or delivery issues promptly.
• Assisting with warehouse duties when required.
• Following all health and safety procedures.

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous van driving experience.
• Good knowledge of London and the surrounding areas.
• A friendly, professional and customer-focused attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable with lifting and moving products.
• Reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Desirable but not essential:

• Experience delivering to schools or commercial customers.
• Previous warehouse experience.
• Forklift licence (training may be available).

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 6:00am – 4:00pm
• No weekend working.
