Job Description

Are you an HGV Class 2 driver looking for flexible driving work in Barnstaple or the surrounding North Devon area?

Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting Category C drivers for a variety of assignments with local businesses.

From occasional shifts to more regular, ongoing work, we can help you explore opportunities that suit your experience and availability.

Assignments can vary, offering the chance to work with different vehicles, businesses and delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries and collections as required.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks.
• Safely load, secure and unload goods where required.
• Follow road transport, drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations.
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.

Newly qualified Class 2 drivers are encouraged to register, although some assignments may require previous experience.

Pay & Benefits

• £15.00 – £21.00 per hour, depending on assignment.
• Weekly Friday pay.
