HGV Class 2 Driver – Permanent Position
Location: Leyland
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday / Tuesday–Saturday rotating weekly
Licence Required: HGV Class 2 (Category C)
We are looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team based in Leyland on a permanent basis.
This is a delivery role supplying goods directly to shops. You will be working alongside a Driver’s Mate, who will assist you throughout the day with deliveries and unloading.
The Role
Your duties will include:
● Driving a Class 2 vehicle on scheduled delivery routes
● Delivering goods to shops and retail locations
● Unloading and moving goods using a sack truck
● Working closely with your Driver’s Mate to complete deliveries safely and efficiently
● Completing vehicle checks and relevant delivery paperwork
● Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
● Ensuring goods are handled carefully and delivered to the correct locations
Shift Pattern
The position operates on a rotating shift pattern:
Week 1: Monday to Friday
Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday
The rota then repeats.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants should have:
● A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
● Valid Driver CPC
● Valid Digital Tachograph Card
● A good understanding of drivers’ hours and working time regulations
● A reliable and professional approach to work
● Good communication and customer service skills
● The ability to carry out the physical aspects of the role, including moving goods using a sack truck
