Driver Hire Chelmsford & Harlow are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 ADR Class 9 Tramper Driver on behalf of a client based in Brentwood. This is a temp to perm opportunity.

The Role

• Position: HGV Class 1 Driver (ADR Class 9 essential)
• Working Pattern:
  • Mon–Fri (10-hour shifts, 4 nights out) OR
  • Sun PM–Fri (5 nights out)
• Work Type: Skip / RoRo operations
• Vehicles: Modern Volvo & Scania sleeper cabs

Temp (First 12 Weeks)

• £18.50 per hour (min 10 hours paid per day)
• £30 per night out allowance
• Employed via Driver Hire

Permanent Package (After 12 Weeks)

• Salary: £43,609.17 per year
• Night Out: £55 per night (split taxable/non-taxable)
• Overtime:
  • £17/hr (first 10 hrs/week)
  • £20.40/hr (after 10 hrs)
  • Sat/Sun: min 4.5 hrs at £20.40/hr
• Additional Pay:
  • £15 daily food allowance (~£3,900/year)
  • £140 per out-of-hours call-out

Earnings

• £61,000 average (4–5 nights out)
• £66,000 – £70,000+ with overtime/weekends

Requirements

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• ADR Class 9 (essential)
• 2+ years Class 1 experience
• Age 25+ (insurance)
• Max 6 penalty points
• Tramping experience preferred
