Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to work with a variety of well-established clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Whether you’re looking to pick up extra shifts, work around existing commitments or keep your availability flexible, we have a range of Class 1 assignments available.

🚛 The Role

The work will vary depending on the assignment, giving you the opportunity to work across a range of different driving roles.

Duties may include:

• Trunking and general haulage
• Palletised deliveries and collections
• Depot-to-depot work
• Deliveries to commercial and customer locations
• Multi-drop deliveries where required
• Loading and unloading goods where required
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Following road transport legislation and health & safety procedures
• Providing a professional and reliable service to customers

With a variety of clients and assignments available, the work can vary from shift to shift.

🕒 Shifts & Hours

• Flexible ad-hoc shifts
• Day shifts
• Back shifts
• Night shifts
• Weekday and weekend work
• Typical shift lengths of 8–12 hours
• Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
• Shifts available depending on client requirements and your availability

💷 Pay Rates

PAYE

• £15.50 per hour
• £20.66 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £17.37 per hour
• £23.15 per hour after 8 hours

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience
• Maximum 9 penalty points
• No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Safety-conscious attitude
• Good communication skills
• Flexible and willing to work different assignments

⚠️ Drug and alcohol testing may be carried out during induction and on a random basis throughout employment.
