Driver Hire Blackburn are recruiting experienced Class 1 (Cat C+E) HGV Drivers for ongoing work delivering building products and construction materials to builders’ merchants.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 driver looking for regular work with a well-established national logistics operation.

The Role

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of building products to builders’ merchants and trade customers.

Typical duties will include:

• Driving a Class 1 HGV
• Delivering building products and construction materials
• Deliveries to builders’ merchants and trade sites
• Securing and checking loads before leaving site
• Completing vehicle and delivery checks
• Following delivery instructions and site procedures
• Completing delivery paperwork and digital records
• Providing professional customer service at delivery points
• Working safely at all times and complying with relevant transport legislation

The role involves multi-drop deliveries, so previous experience of delivering to commercial and trade customers would be advantageous.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal Class 1 driver will have:

• A valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) HGV licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience
• Experience delivering building products, construction materials or similar loads is desirable
• Good knowledge of UK roads
• A professional and reliable approach
• Good communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
