Driver Hire Group Services staff followed this excellent advice when they supported ‘Wear a hat day’ on March 27th.
Organised by Brain Tumour Research, the principal aim of the day was to raise awareness of brain tumours and encourage more government funding for research.
“The incidence of brain tumours is increasing,” says Jeremy Neale, Driver Hire’s UK Managing Director who encouraged colleagues to get involved. “Annually
around 16,000 people are diagnosed with the disease. Incidence is at its highest in adults aged 40-60 and children aged 2-12. Most recent figures show that between 1970 and 2011 people with the disease grew
by 10% in women and 15% in men. Yet it only accounts for 1% of the national cancer research spend. It was great that so many Driver Hire staff chose to support
our awareness day.”
