Driver Hire’s Kilt Walk Clan

Staff from Driver Hire’s Wilson Gibb Management Services Ltd offices in Scotland and Newcastle donned their kilts and took to the high road for a major fund-raising effort over the early May bank holiday weekend.

They joined 13,000 other walkers for the annual Royal Bank of Scotland Kilt Walk. The Wilson Gibb contingent numbered 24, including family and friends. Covering a 15-mile route – ‘The Big Stroll’ – from Clydebank to Loch Lomond, collectively they raised an incredible £8000 for local charity Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation.

The charity is based in Wishaw, about a mile from Wilson Gibb’s office base in Driver Hire Motherwell. Established in 1992, it makes wishes come true for children suffering from life threatening illnesses.

“It was a long walk, but a great day out,” says Wilson Gibb’s Fiona Thompson. “It was fantastic to be involved in such a major event which collectively raised over a million for various good causes. My thanks go to all our gallant kilt walkers, all of them heroes, and of course the many very generous people who sponsored us.”
