Driver Hire – the specialist transport & logistics recruitment company – has developed a strong volunteering and community support programme, made possible in part by working with organisations like Participate Projects, as well as through direct connections.
Shipley based Participate Projects support hundreds of individuals, charities, social enterprises, community groups and schools. Driver Hire, based in Bradford, is proud to have supported several volunteering projects in recent years, including painting and decorating local community centres, landscape gardening and marshalling at disability sports events.
In addition, Driver Hire has also been working closely with Dixons City Academy since 2017 – a local school just outside the city centre. Volunteers from Driver Hire have got involved with CV workshops, held mock interviews and also delivered seminars on careers to the students there.
Richard Owen-Hughes, Group Marketing Director, explains here why Driver Hire is a strong advocate for volunteering; why it’s good for the local community, the business and your own staff.
Volunteers’ Week runs from 1 June – 7 June every year, and is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.
