Back for the first time in two years, Driver Hire’s annual conference provided a perfect opportunity to celebrate an outstanding year.

Chief Executive, Chris Chidley was on hand to reveal that the financial year 2021/22 was the best ever in nearly 40 years trading. It was also a record year for Driver Hire Australia, Driver Risk Management and the whole of the SPS Group.
Held on 22 April at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester and hosted by champion rally driver, Penny Mallory, there were over 100 delegates in attendance. Guest speaker was rugby legend, Jamie Peacock.
Conference also celebrated the achievements of individual franchisees and their offices. Nic Chaviaris (Gatwick) collected the top award, ‘Franchisee of the Year.’ Also on the podium were: Jordan Tracey (Dundee & Perth) and Oliver Maxwell (Milton Keynes) who each won ‘New Start of the Year’ – the first time in Driver Hire history that two franchisees have won this category in the same year; Mick Goodfellow (Nottingham) ‘Lawn Rose Bowl for Endeavour’ and Graeme Edgerton (Paisley) ‘David Walter Memorial Salver’.
In total 36 awards were presented to 24 different franchisees for exceptional business performance.
Commenting on Driver Hire’s overall performance Chris said: “The business is even better and stronger post pandemic. Trading is 61% higher than the previous year. It’s a performance you can all be proud of.”
