Driver Hire Australia celebrates a decade of success

Driver Hire launched its first Australian recruitment office in January 2012 and is now the only specialist transport and logistics recruiter with a national presence Down Under.

The business launched on 9 January 2012 from one small office in Perth and an employee head count of just two people. Ten years on, more than thirty staff are employed across eight offices and turnover has gone from $5m in their first financial year to over $35m today.

A name now well-known in Australia for its quality of service and commitment to workers and clients, Driver Hire has grown year-on-year due to its unparalleled labour hire services, specifically focused on serving the transport and logistics industry.

In the last twelve months alone, Driver Hire Australia supported more than 400 companies across the country with specialist cover, providing drivers to fulfil over 72,000 shifts.

To mark their 10th anniversary, Driver Hire has announced exciting plans to grow their existing branches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney and also to expand their network by opening new sites in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and the Northern territory.

Dean Hewitt, Head of International Development, and his wife Margaret Ann, moved from the UK to launch the first Driver Hire office in 2012. Alongside the many Australian nationals who now work for Driver Hire, a number of others from the UK have followed a similar path.

Commenting on the journey and plans to expand further over the next few years, Dean said,

“The hard work of everyone in our team has made Driver Hire Australia a fantastic business and we are proud of what we have achieved together. To go from two people in a small office to a network of eight offices with over 30 members of staff and turnover of $35 is a great accomplishment.

Driver Hire’s success has enabled our employees to build a great career for themselves. Our plans for further growth and to open new offices means we’ll be looking to hire experienced recruiters and talented branch managers who share our drive for success, passion and entrepreneurial spirit.”

The company is actively recruiting for several positions and boasts market-leading salaries and bonus schemes. Subject to visa requirements, enquiries from both Australia and UK-based recruitment professionals are welcome.
