Driver Hire Borders was one of the main sponsors of the 2022 Berwickshire Charity Truck Run. Thanks to huge support from local road transport companies, 82 beautifully turned-out trucks joined the horn hooting convoy.
Polished and preened to perfection, the HGV line up included everything from tractor units through to cement mixers.
Blessed with perfect summer weather, the convoy covered 60+ miles through the beautiful borders’ countryside, visiting picturesque towns and villages along the way. Cheered by crowds on every street corner, the fundraising truck extravaganza took around 2.5 hours to complete the run.
“It was an amazing day,” says Viki Carruthers, manager of Driver Hire Borders. “There was a lovely feeling of goodwill and warmth surrounding the whole event. In total we raised a fantastic £30,000 for the excellent work of Borders’ Cancer Service and the Heart Fund at Borders’ General Hospital. A big thanks to the five local transport businesses who, along with Driver Hire Borders, formed the organising committee. All of them gave so much of their free time to ensure the event was such a fabulous success.”
