Carrie Ann Donohue is the new franchisee at Driver Hire York & Harrogate.
Along with her business partner, Dianna Bamforth, she’s taking over the reins from long-standing franchisee, David Poole.
“When I started working here in 2004 I never dreamt that I’d eventually own the business,” says Carrie. “When David announced his intention to retire and sell the business, I decided it was an opportunity not to be missed.
“This is a good business with bags of potential,” says Carrie. “When David told me he was selling I decided that rather than help someone else to profit from its success, I’d do it myself.”
Over the past decade, Carrie has developed an in-depth knowledge of road transport recruitment and will be running Driver Hire York & Harrogate on a day-to-day basis. Working alongside Carrie is her father, Rob, who is looking after sales and operations. She’s also recruited an apprentice, Emma Crawford, to provide additional assistance on the operations side of the business.
“Driver Hire York has become a very successful business,” says Carrie. “My aims are to maintain its existing reputation for excellence and expand our customer base.. In addition to our core recruitment business we’re also offering additional ‘added value’ eServices including the highly popular ‘dh Licence Check’, Driver Hire’s online driving licence checking service.”
