🚛 Class 2 HGV Driver – Composite Decking & Artificial Grass

Driver Hire Blackburn are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to work for a well-established company specialising in composite decking and artificial grass.

This is a hands-on delivery role involving approximately 10–15 deliveries per day, so we’re looking for a reliable Class 2 driver who is comfortable with some manual handling and providing a professional service to customers.

The Role

As a Class 2 Delivery Driver, your duties will include:

• Delivering composite decking, artificial grass and associated products to customers
• Completing approximately 10–15 drops per day
• Loading and unloading the vehicle
• Carrying out some handball/manual handling of products
• Delivering to residential and commercial addresses
• Using delivery paperwork and following delivery instructions
• Ensuring goods are delivered safely and securely
• Providing good customer service at each delivery
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Working safely and professionally at all times

Working Hours

06:00am starts

The role involves a busy delivery schedule, so applicants must be comfortable with early starts and completing multiple deliveries throughout the day.

Requirements

To be considered for this Class 2 Driver position, you will need:

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Previous Class 2 delivery experience preferred
• Good knowledge of local roads and delivery routes
• Comfortable with manual handling and handball deliveries
• A good standard of customer service
• Reliable and punctual approach to work
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy delivery schedule

The Ideal Driver

We’re looking for a Class 2 Driver, HGV Driver or Delivery Driver who is happy to get involved rather than simply drop the keys and walk away.

Because some deliveries involve handballing composite decking and artificial grass, the role would suit someone who is physically capable and comfortable working in a hands-on delivery environment.
