Port Service Operative

Location: Belfast Port
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off (12-hour shifts)
Average Hours: 42 hours per week

Salary

£37,015.45 per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a Tugmaster to transfer trailers on and off vessels safely and efficiently.
• Mooring and assisting in the loading and unloading of vessels on arrival.
• Traffic marshalling of freight and passenger vehicles to ensure safe embarkation and disembarkation.
• Housekeeping of port areas and carrying out other routine operational duties as required.

Shift Details

This role operates on a 4 Days On / 4 Days Off rotating shift pattern, consisting of 12-hour shifts:

2 x Day Shifts: 6:00am – 6:00pm
2 x Night Shifts: 6.00pm – 6:00am
Followed by 4 days off

Average working hours are 42 hours per week. Flexibility and reliability are essential.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience operating large vehicles such as buses, HGVs, Tugmasters, agricultural machinery, or similar equipment. (Please note, an HGV or Bus licence is not required.)
• Previous exposure to port operations or similar logistics environments is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and structured operational processes.
