On a hot summer day – and there have been plenty of those this year – one of life’s little pleasures is fresh dairy ice cream in a crisp cornet. And now, thanks to the work of specialist vehicle manufacturer, Crewe-based Whitby Morrison, you can enjoy your favourite double-scoop purchased from an environmentally friendly, fully electric ice cream van.
This first-ever, purpose-built, ice cream van has been specially designed to meet the needs of mobile vendors. It cuts tailpipe emissions because there’s no engine idling and reduces noise pollution too. It’s perfect for city centres where there are LEZ restrictions as well as public parks, schools and sports stadiums.
Whitby Morrison have combined Mercedes Benz electric vehicle technology with their specialized body design. The end result is pleasing to the eye, pleasing for the environment and pleasing for the taste buds.
Ed Whitby, operations director at Whitby Morrison said: “Our purpose-built ice cream van has been developed to meet the needs of vendors whilst helping the industry to move towards a cleaner, brighter future.”
So now the only question is: ‘Do you want a chocolate chip, raspberry ripple or a 99?’
