Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join a busy and well-established waste management operation based in East Lothian.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for consistent full-time work, weekly pay, and the chance to secure a permanent role with a reputable client.
🕒 Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 6:15am start times
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Overtime available depending on workload
- Temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate
🔧 The Role
- Operating a Class 2 skip vehicle across scheduled delivery and collection routes
- Delivering and collecting skips safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures
- Providing excellent customer service at delivery and collection points
💰 Pay Rates
PAYE
- £14.53 per hour
- £21.80 per hour overtime after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £16.28 per hour
- £24.42 per hour overtime after 8 hours
✅ Minimum 40 hours guaranteed per week
✅ Weekly pay
✅ Long-term and permanent opportunities available
✅ Requirements
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Previous skip, waste, or similar Class 2 driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
