Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for a temp-to-perm opportunity with a well-established waste and recycling company operating across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
This is a great chance for drivers looking for long-term, stable employment with the security of a permanent role following a successful temporary period.

🕒 Working Pattern
- Temp-to-perm position with long-term opportunity
- Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts available
- Early morning start times (typically 6:00am–7:00am)
- Full-time hours with overtime available during busy periods
💰 Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
- £14.50 per hour (PAYE)
- £16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Overtime – After 8 Hours
- £19.32 per hour (PAYE)
- £21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
✅ Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
✅ Weekly pay
✅ Holiday pay accrued unless PAYE Advanced selected
♻️ The Role
- Driving a Class 2 vehicle completing waste and recycling collections
- Working as part of a team with loaders
- Completing scheduled routes across Edinburgh and surrounding areas
- Ensuring safe and efficient collection of waste materials
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork
- Following strict health & safety procedures at all times
- Providing a reliable and professional service
✅ Requirements
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum 9 penalty points
(No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements) - Physically fit and comfortable with an active, outdoor role
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
