Driver Hire, the UK’s leading supplier of staff to the road transport and logistics industry, is now covering Barnstaple. The man behind the move is Tom Williams, the owner of Driver Hire’s Torbay franchise.
Tom bought the Torbay franchise in 2021, aged just 22, making him Driver Hire’s youngest ever franchisee. It’s proved to be a great move. Over the past five years, the business has grown substantially. Turnover for the recently completed financial year was £1.8m. “It’s all about delivering great value customer service,” says Tom. “When we supply drivers and other staff, our aim is to provide a cost-effective staffing solution for our client. We’re looking to transfer the success we’ve had in Torbay to Barnstaple.”
Covering postcodes EX20-23 and EX31-39, Driver Hire Barnstaple provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.
“Prior to our move, Barnstaple didn’t have any specialist transport & logistics recruitment agencies,” says Tom. “Covering the area will put us in touch with more clients and more candidates. In fact, we’ve got off to a flying start, quickly attracting two clients and finding work for drivers immediately. We’re really looking forward to meeting the staffing needs of local businesses and organisations right across our new Barnstaple territory.”
