Driver Hire Dundee & Perth Back Arctic Trek Challenge as Explorers Reach the Finish Line

Driver Hire Dundee & Perth are proud to support Dundee United Community Trust’s extraordinary Arctic Circle Trek – a breathtaking endurance challenge that has now reached its conclusion after six unforgettable days.

On 21 January 2026, four brave trekkers set off from Dundee to Rovaniemi, Finland, ready to take on 72 hours of tough Arctic conditions. Pulling their own equipment by sledge, battling sub-zero temperatures, and sleeping in tents beneath the polar sky, the team pushed themselves to the limit in support of the Trust’s community work.

Their journey began with a flight via Helsinki before a safety briefing and rare free time in Rovaniemi, including the chance to visit Santa Claus Village.

From there, the hard work began:

  • Day 3: A demanding 28km trek, ending with dinner around an open fire and a first opportunity to witness the magical Northern Lights.
  • Day 4: A further 22km on foot through deep snow and icy terrain, capped with another fireside meal and a second chance to spot the Aurora Borealis.
  • Day 5: The final stretch – 15km to the Arctic Circle, where the team celebrated their achievement with a well‑earned meal at the iconic Arctic Snow Hotel.
  • Day 6: The return home, exhausted but triumphant.

Driver Hire Dundee & Perth’s sponsorship helped make the challenge possible, supporting both the trekkers and the valuable programmes delivered by Dundee United Community Trust. Their involvement highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to community initiatives across the region.

With the adventure now complete, the trekkers return home with lifelong memories, and the knowledge that their effort will have a lasting impact on the people and projects the Trust supports.
