HGV Class 2 Driver – Temp to Perm Opportunity
📍 Based in Reading | £15 – £30 per hour | Monday to Friday, Day Shifts
Driver Hire Reading is now recruiting for a Class 2 (Cat C) HGV Driver on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of high-quality outdoor furniture and structures, servicing clients in the hospitality and leisure industries.
This is an excellent long-term temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle for nationwide deliveries and collections.

Load, transport, and unload a range of products including awnings, parasols, and bespoke outdoor furniture.

Handle goods carefully and professionally—manual handling involved.

Complete delivery paperwork and carry out vehicle checks and tachograph records accurately.

Maintain high levels of customer service and represent the client in a professional manner.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
-
A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.

A solid track record of safe, reliable driving—experience delivering fragile or valuable items preferred.

No more than 6 points on licence (due to insurance restrictions).

Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude.

Willingness to perform manual handling tasks.
⏰ Hours & Pay:
-
Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (45 hrs/week)

£15.00/hour basic
-
£22.50/hour overtime (after 8 hrs & Saturdays)

£30.00/hour Sundays & Bank Holidays
