Pockney Pedal

Uxbridge franchisee, Ed Pockney, is out of the office for a month (and a bit). That’s because he’s having a bike ride. A 3,250 mile bike ride to be exact – across America from San Francisco to New York. Ed and seven other riders started their epic journey on May 18th and by May 29th had reached Colorado.

Along the way they’ll be traversing the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachians. They’re due to arrive in the Big Apple on June 25th.

Whilst Ed is having a fantastic time, he’s not doing it for fun.

He and the rest of the peloton are raising money for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. The Foundation was started by former Scottish International Rugby Union player, the late Doddie Weir, following his Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis.

The ultimate aim of the Foundation is to find a cure for MND. It also provides grants and other support to improve the lives of MND sufferers and their families. If you feel moved to support Ed you can contribute online to his dedicated Just Giving page.
