Paul Farmer, a trainee amateur pilot, has purchased the Driver Hire London South West franchise, based in Wimbledon.
Paul has built up an impressive and wide ranging CV that makes him ideally suited to running a Driver Hire office. He worked for five years as a goods vehicle driver. He also has experience in recruitment. For the last ten years he worked as a self-employed independent financial advisor.
“I was looking for a new challenge,” says Paul. “I wanted to continue being my own boss so I decided to research franchises. My past experience made a Driver Hire franchise a good fit. I liked the look of their tried and tested business model which has created a nationwide network of successful franchisees.”
Out of hours, Paul is working towards attaining an amateur pilot's licence. So far he’s completed 15 hours of the required 50 hours’ flying time. In fact he’s clearly a man who likes his thrills - his other ‘relaxation’ is taking his 800cc motorbike out for an occasional spin.
“Using temps to create a flexible workforce is recognised as a useful strategy in uncertain economic times,” Paul continues. “So I think there are going to be plenty of opportunities to develop the business and reach new heights of excellence.”
