Driver Hire welcomes a manic Monday
According to research conducted by the online shopping comparison website Kelkoo, Monday 29 November will be the busiest internet shopping day of the year. The survey suggests that a total of £537m – that equates to £22.4m per hour – will be spent. They’ve dubbed it ‘Manic Monday’.
And whilst that might mean a few snarl-ups out there in cyber space, back down on earth, it adds up to another cheering Christmas for Driver Hire.
As Chief Executive Chris Chidley explains: “We supply temporary and permanent staff to a whole host of retailers and parcel delivery companies. Ultimately an online purchase has to be delivered to someone’s door – whether that’s a home or business. So ‘Manic Monday’ will necessitate a recruitment drive for temporary drivers and other staff to meet the needs of national firms involved in the fast-growing home shopping sector.”
Retailers such as John Lewis and parcel delivery companies such as City Link, Parcelnet and Home Delivery Network rely on a flexible workforce to meet seasonal peaks in demand. “We are uniquely placed to meet their needs,” Chris continues. “Our ISO 9001 quality systems mean that they have the comfort of knowing that all their stores and depots are using temporary staff from a compliant and reputable supplier with a truly national network.”
