Driver Hire Bristol is very pleased to be offering Driver CPC Training.
The Driver CPC is now a legal obligation for commercial LGV Drivers. On 10th September 2009, the EU Driver CPC Directive came into force.
Existing drivers now need to complete Periodic Training; 35 hours of training every 5 years to ensure that their Driver CPC is up to date. All drivers who hold a full licence, C1, C, C+E or C1+E on 10th September 2014, will need to complete the training by 10th September 2014. Drivers will be issued with a Driver CPC card with an expiry date. This process is then completed throughtout your driving career.This process is then completed throughtout your driving career.
LGV drivers who pass after 10th September 2014, will have to complete intial CPC training to change a vocational licence to a professional licence. Initial CPC consist of two elements a CPC case study and a Driver CPC vehicle safety demonstration practical test. Drivers will be issued with a DQC Drivers Qualification card. Periodic training will then need to be completed.
Training modules are designed to be relevant to a Drivers' knowledge and everyday experiences. There is no recorded pass or fail to CPC.

Only approved courses held by approved training centres will count towards the CPC training. This is managed on behalf of the The Driving Standards Agency DSA by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training JAUPT.
