Port Service Operative – NEW SHIFT PATTERN
Full-time | Permanent & Temp-to-Perm Opportunities Salary: £33,927 per annum Start Date: 21st April, 5th May and 19th 2026 (approx)
PLEASE NOTE: NO HGV OR CAT D LICENCE REQUIRED HOWEVER MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OPERATING LARGE HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES.

🔧 Role Overview
As a Port Service Operative, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the port, ensuring vessels, freight, and passengers move smoothly and safely.
You’ll work a rotating pattern of 2 days (06:00–18:00) followed by 2 nights (18:00–06:00), with a 24-hour break after your final day shift before transitioning to nights.
This pattern offers excellent work–life balance with regular extended rest periods.
🚢 Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Tugmaster to safely transfer trailers on and off vessels
- Mooring duties and assisting with vessel loading/unloading
- Traffic marshalling for freight and passenger vehicles
- Maintaining housekeeping standards across port areas
- Supporting routine operational tasks as required
🎓 Experience & Qualifications
- Experience with large vehicles (HGVs, Tugmasters, agricultural machinery) HGV licence not required
- Previous port or logistics experience is beneficial
- Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and structured operations
- Must have experience operating large, heavy‑duty vehicles.
