Job Description
Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay) is recruiting HGV Class 2 (Cat C) drivers for ongoing local and regional assignments around Newton Abbot and South Devon. If you’re looking for secure, well-paid driving work with early starts, guaranteed minimum hours, and a friendly working environment, this role could be the perfect fit.
Location
Newton Abbot and South Devon (commutable from Exeter and Plymouth).
Salary
£16.81 – £21.01 per hour (PAYE Advanced).
Employees will receive weekly pay, which includes a guaranteed minimum of 8 hours for each shift worked.
Key Responsibilities
-
Operate Class 2 vehicles on local and regional routes.

Carry out multi-drop deliveries to businesses (no parcel delivery).

Load and unload goods (manual handling required).

Keep vehicles clean and complete all delivery paperwork accurately.

Deliver excellent customer service, including occasional payment handling.
Qualifications
Essential:
-
Full UK Class 2 (Cat C) licence.

In-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.

Maximum of 6 penalty points (excluding DR, DD, IN endorsements).

Physically fit for manual handling.

Safety boots and your own transport to reach depots.
Desirable:

Previous Class 2/multi-drop driving experience.

Interest in temp-to-perm opportunities.
